Terms of Service

LAST UPDATED: October 19, 2020

Please read these Conditions of Use (“terms”) carefully before using this website. Accessing, browsing, or using this website is a privilege that is subject to the following terms and indicates your agreement and acceptance of these terms. By using this website you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms.

1. Fees and charges

1.1 All projects are quoted through the pricing mentioned in our automated quote email. As an independent writing agency, we reserve the right to decline or terminate any proposals that we judge is against our interests. All active jobs will be subject to our refund policy.

1.2 The estimated costs are calculated on a per-project basis. Please contact us to know more if you wish to opt for the monthly or yearly plans which include free services that benefit long-term savings. All estimated costs computed exclude VAT where applicable and are valid for thirty days from the date of the quotation unless otherwise agreed.

1.3 Unless otherwise stated above or previously agreed in writing, all invoices are due within 7 days (96 hours) of any invoice date and are subject to a grace period. Between 4 to 7 days (96+ to 168 hours) we will follow-up the invoice request with daily emails. After the 7th day (168+ hours) the grace period is over and if the written content was either published or used in any way, it will be reported and taken down for copyright infringement.

1.4 Unless otherwise agreed in writing, work will usually commence within five working days of the acceptance of the proposal. Verbo will do its very best to ensure that agreed timelines are adhered to, but please be aware that circumstances, amends requested, or additional requirements may potentially result in delays.

2. Intellectual property and ownership

2.1 Until payment is received in full, all written content remains the intellectual property of Verbo. Full copyright and ownership of all ‘commissioned’ work will reside with Verbo until full payment has been received, at which point the agency will surrender to the client, all claims of ownership, and full copyright for final work produced. This agreement is subject to all references that point to Verbo’s written content. This includes advertisements, portfolios, in print, and such.

2.2 Verbo will never knowingly infringe any copyright or trademark and will deliver, to the best of its knowledge, fresh content solutions that are original and unique to the agency. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, it is the responsibility of the client to ensure that no copyright or trademark has been infringed and to make their own application for copyright or trademark.

2.3 All content that is included on this site, such as text, graphics, logos, button icons, images, digital downloads, data compilations, and software, is the property of or its content suppliers and protected by international copyright laws. The compilation of all content at this site is the exclusive property of this company and protected by international copyright laws. All software used at this site is the property of this company or its software suppliers and protected by international copyright laws. The trademark names used within our sites are the property of their respective company or its subsidiaries and cannot be used in connection with any product or service that is not part of that company. What that means in simple terms is that you may not copy it.

3. Cancellation of work

3.1 Refunds are subject to four varieties. Firstly, all paid for projects that have not yet been initiated or completed are given back in full. Second, for content that has been paid for and completed, refunds will be given back in full within exactly a week of completion. Third, for content submitted as complete between 7 and 14 days, refunds will only be given 50% of the total cost back. Lastly, for submitted and completed work past 15 days, refunds will no longer apply. Every article or written content refunded will have its right of ownership returned to Verbo. Any trace of the refunded written content on your website will be subject to copyright-infringement and will be taken down.

4. Resolution of disputes

4.1 If any dispute arises, whether concerning a particular contract or any other matter relating to dealings of the client, the parties shall meet and use all amicable and constructive means to settle their differences (including formal mediation through the appropriate recognized body) before recourse to law.

5. Delivery

5.1 The delivery times are reasonable estimates and the team at Verbo will do everything within its power to meet the schedule. Please be aware that amends requested, or additional requirements may potentially result in delays. Therefore any anticipated completion date provided by the agency is subject to options chosen and client cooperation in the provision of information and approval. Timelines provided are only heavily enforced estimate, but the agency will not be held liable if the project overruns due to delays caused by the client passing information or approval, or any third party issues or force majeure (act of God).

6. Revision Policy

6.1 We offer an unlimited number of revisions for every written piece. As writers, we will suggest and possibly counter-argue points made by our clients when we deem the change as detrimental. However, the client has every right to ignore our heeds and request for a revision, to which we will do without question once finally decided.

Revisions are unlimited and will only end once the written content has been paid for and submitted as completed or if the written content has already been published or made public on your half.

Once the payment has been made or the written content published in any way, revisions will no longer apply and it will be assumed that the client is already satisfied.

Revision turnaround time will depend on the level of revisions required. The hours needed to revise will be calculated by equating 100 words (that needs revision) to an hour. This will be rounded up for every case. E.g. 101 words that need revision will be considered 200 words and will require 2 hours of work.

The hours for the revision will be counted once we’ve communicated to the client that we, the writers, will begin revising. Additionally, these hours are also applicable to terms and service 5.1.

7. Quality Assurance Policy

7.1 In order to provide the desired results, both of Verbo’s founders will personally overlook the process between writer and proofreader. All work is proofread prior to final delivery. It is to be noted that we guarantee the standard & quality of the order.

Our quality control team double-checks each content for plagiarism before sending it to the customer. First, every content undergoes our authenticity test through various advanced plagiarism detection methods. Second, it goes to our professional proofreaders for grammar and plagiarism checking. Lastly, when possible, all works pass through both Verbo’s founders for the final check.

8. Recognition

8.1 Every article or written content that has been paid for is completely and 100 percent owned by you, our clients. However, we reserve the right to claim having written these articles when necessary (portfolio purposes). Despite that, you can still attribute the content to being written by your writers, we do not require that you give us credit.

These terms and conditions of business apply to all present and future projects unless otherwise agreed in writing. Verbo reserves the right to change or modify these terms at any stage with immediate effect. By agreeing to these terms, your statutory rights are not affected.
